His research focuses on understanding river systems before land plants, Paleozoic stratigraphy, and mineralization processes in Arctic Canada.
Education: BSc (Hons) from Leicester University, MSc and PhD from Western University.
Research Interests: Sedimentology of clastic and carbonate systems, Proterozoic fluvial sandstones, Lower Paleozoic dynamics, and the influence of paleogeography on sediment distribution. Current projects include studies of the St. Lawrence Platform, Hudson Platform, and Mesoproterozoic Northern BC deposits.
Key Awards: Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists Douglas Medalist (2011).
Advising & Grants: Advised students Brent Collier and Sebastien Bernier. Research supported by NSERC, GSC, Cameco, and COGEMA (EXTECH IV uranium studies). Collaborations include projects on Athabasca Basin stratigraphy and Mackenzie Mountains Supergroup tectonics.
