معرفی
Darja Jenko is a research scientist at the Institute of Metals and Technology (IMT) in Slovenia, affiliated with the Department of Physics and Chemistry of Materials and the Laboratory of Applied Surface Science, led by Ass Prof Dr Matjaž Godec. Her research focuses on Advanced Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), including in situ heating experiments on nanoparticles and nanocomposites, and the study of Fe-Al-based alloys using TEM techniques. She holds a PhD in Materials Science.
Education: Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science.
Research interests emphasize structural and morphological changes in materials at nanoscale, with applications in materials engineering and alloy development. Her work contributes to understanding material behavior under extreme conditions through advanced microscopy techniques. She has participated in significant projects like the EU-funded 'MARTINA' (2016–2019) and 'LEAF' (Lead-Free Piezoelectric Ceramics), alongside national projects focused on creep-resistant steels, biomedical shape memory alloys, and nanomaterial production technologies.
Laboratory affiliations include the Laboratory of Applied Surface Science at IMT, where she conducts cutting-edge TEM-based research. Her career spans roles at IMT since 2008 and earlier work at the Jožef Stefan Institute (2000–2007) as a junior researcher in Electronic Ceramics.
