معرفی
Dr. Darja Andreev is a Junior Research Group Leader at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), focusing on the interplay between the immune system, inflammation, and tissue regeneration. She previously held leadership roles at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen and has expertise in rheumatology, immunology, and bone biology.
- Education:
- PhD in Biology (Dr. rer. nat.), Department of Internal Medicine 3 – Rheumatology and Immunology, Universitätsklinikum Erlangen (2015–2019)
- Bachelor's and Master's in Biology (Cellular and Molecular Biology), Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2009–2014)
Her research explores cellular and molecular signaling pathways in misguided immune responses, with a focus on eosinophils, heme peroxidases, and alarmins in bone metabolism and autoimmune diseases. Her work integrates genetically modified mice, human tissue analyses, and omics/imaging technologies to study inflammatory arthritis, osteoporosis, and tissue homeostasis.
Key publications highlight her contributions to understanding eosinophil regulation of bone loss, CD83-based therapies, and the role of alarmins in osteoclast-mediated pathologies. Grants from the DFG (CRC/TRR369, CRC1181), IZKF, and RESOLVE support her projects.
- Scientific Awards:
- Young Investigator Prize 2022 (EWRR)
- EULAR-Bursary and EWRR 2020 Award
- Travel Awards and Best Presentation Awards (2016–2022)
She advises PhD students Pauline Porschitz and Mafalda de Montenegro Cortez, and her team includes technicians (Bianca Bazylak-Kaps) and administrative staff (Eike Lau). Current projects aim to reprogram eosinophils for pro-resolving phenotypes in arthritis, asthma, and osteoporosis.
