Prof. Dariusz Jemielniak is a Full Professor in the Department of Management in Digital and Networked Societies at Kozminski University, leading the Center for Research on Organizations and Workplaces (CROW) and co-founding the NeRDS (New Research on Digital Societies) group. He holds a master’s (2000), Ph.D. (2004), habilitation in management (2009), and a second habilitation in sociology (2019). He is a correspondent member of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2020. His research focuses on organizational strategies in technology industries, open collaboration, and digital social sciences.
Key research areas include Wikipedia studies, disinformation analysis, climate change discourse, AI ethics, and gender gaps in academia. He has conducted research at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center (since 2015) and prestigious institutions like MIT and UC Berkeley. Notable awards include the Prime Minister Award (2020) and Dorothy Lee Award (2015).
Grants include projects on detecting disinformation bots (2021) and building vaccine trust (2021). His work bridges qualitative and computational methods, with over 100 publications and books like *Thick Big Data: Doing Digital Social Sciences (2020)*. Current research explores AI-generated bias, online polarization, and Thick Big Data methodologies.
