Darcel Wilson is a vocal artist and educator at Berklee College of Music, specializing in Voice and Improvisation. Since 1998, she has served as an instructor in Theory, Ensembles, and Voice for the City Music Saturday Program. She transitioned to full-time faculty in Berklee’s Five-Week Summer Performance Program for nine summers before joining the Ear Training faculty in 2006. Her teaching spans vocal techniques, improvisation, and music theory.
Wilson has collaborated with renowned artists such as Branford Marsalis, Paul Simon, and George Duke. She contributed vocals and co-wrote a song for the Arthritis Foundation, recorded in Los Angeles, and provided vocal production services in London and Los Angeles. Her voice features in radio/TV jingles for brands like CVS, McDonald’s, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Internationally, she conducted clinics and taught at institutions including Koyo Conservatory (Japan) and the Heineken Jazz Festival (Puerto Rico). She also participated in Berklee’s Vocal Summit in Freiburg, Germany. Currently, she focuses on her solo album project while maintaining her academic and performance career.
