Dr. Daphne Ioannou serves as permanent laboratory teaching staff (EDIP) and researcher at the Agricultural University of Athens within the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry under the School of Environment and Agricultural Engineering. She holds teaching responsibilities for core undergraduate courses including Environmental Soil Science and Soil Resources Management (9th Semester) and Soil Chemistry (5th Semester), delivering 5 weekly teaching hours per course.
Her research centers on chemical processes and mechanisms governing soil component behavior, with specific emphasis on environmental pollution dynamics. Key focus areas include analyzing human intervention impacts such as fertilization practices and waste addition on soil pollution pathways. This work bridges geochemical principles with agricultural sustainability challenges.
- PhD in Geochemistry, Technical University of Crete
- BSc in Geology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
Dr. Ioannou maintains an active research profile with 17 publications in international scientific journals and 14 conference presentations at national and international forums. Her laboratory-based investigations directly inform her teaching in soil chemistry and environmental management curricula.
