Danny Soulier serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Percussion at the University of Utah, teaching private timpani lessons, while holding the position of Principal Timpanist for the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square since 2000.
Education:
- BA in Percussion Performance, University of Utah, 2003
- MA in Percussion Performance, Cleveland State University, 2006
His expertise spans percussion and timpani performance, music education, and ensemble leadership. He has performed globally with the Tabernacle Choir in venues including Carnegie Hall and Vienna's Musikverein, and collaborated with artists like Andrea Bocelli and Gladys Knight across PBS broadcasts and 30+ recordings.
As an educator, he directed the University of Utah drumline/percussion ensemble (2010-2011), founded the Honors Youth Percussion Ensemble (HYPE) in 2007, and instructed high school drumlines in Utah and Ohio. His performance career includes 20+ years as extra percussionist/substitute timpanist with the Utah Symphony and engagements with Sun Valley Summer Symphony, New World Symphony, and Ballet West under conductors including Thierry Fischer and Keith Lockhart.
Endorsed as a Concert Artist by Pearl/Adams Percussion, he studied with principal percussionists from the Utah, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Seattle Symphonies.
