Danny Otto is a researcher at the Department of Urban and Environmental Sociology within the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in Leipzig, Germany. His work focuses on societal requirements for carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies, sustainability transformations, and climate resilience strategies.
- Current projects: RamonCO (risk assessment for CO2 storage), BioNET (biobased negative emission technologies), KAHR (flood resilience research), and Carbon Cascadia (CDR online game development)
- Recent publications examine CCS risk governance, social infrastructure post-disasters, and interdisciplinary organization in international research projects
