Danny Miller is a Tenured Research Professor at HEC Montréal, serving as Director of the Center for Research on Organization, Strategy and Governance. He holds an MBA (Organization Theory) from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. (Management Policy) from McGill University. His research focuses on strategic management, organizational change, and family business dynamics, with a particular emphasis on competitive dynamics, governance, and socioemotional wealth in family enterprises.
Dr. Miller has published extensively in top journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Family Business Strategy, and Strategic Management Journal. His work explores themes like ethical bifurcation in family businesses during crises, CEO religiosity’s impact on CSR, and the role of cultural factors in family firm performance.
Notable awards include the FERC Lifetime Influence and Impact Award (2021) and multiple best paper prizes from strategic management conferences. He is recognized globally as a leading scholar in family business research, with over 40 journal articles and book chapters to his name. His leadership in the Center for Research on Organization, Strategy and Governance drives interdisciplinary collaboration in strategic and organizational studies.
