Dr. Danny Chow is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at Maynooth University. He holds a PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge and a BA (First Class Honors) from the University of Leeds. His academic background spans accounting, public sector management, and finance. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management and is an external member of the ACCA’s Public Sector Global Forum.
Dr. Chow’s research focuses on interdisciplinary topics in public sector management, including accounting practices, financial reporting, and organizational dynamics. His recent work includes studies on contracting out efficiencies in public services and whole-of-government accounting reforms. He has published widely in journals such as Public Administration, Public Money and Management, and Financial Accountability and Management.
He has held roles as a Chief Examiner for the University of London’s International Programmes and an external examiner at University College London. His teaching spans financial accounting, auditing, and public sector management across institutions like the University of York and Durham University. Currently, he supervises doctoral students and leads the Accounting through Arts (MH101) program at Maynooth.
Dr. Chow has received the Joint Best Paper Prize at the New Public Services Workshop (2018) and has contributed to policy reports for bodies like the UK Parliament’s Public Administration Committee.
