Danish Hafeez is a Clinical Research Associate at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King's College London. He holds an MBChB from the University of Manchester (2021) and an intercalated BSc in Psychology. His research focuses on psychosis, immunopsychiatry, preventative psychiatry, and cultural psychiatry.
He currently works on the Wellcome Trust-funded Immune Mechanisms of Antipsychotic Treatment Response study. His work integrates clinical practice with research, particularly examining the intersection of neurology and psychiatry in conditions like COVID-19 and mental health.
Key research interests include the biological mechanisms of psychosis, the role of immune systems in mental health (immunopsychiatry), and culturally sensitive approaches to psychiatric care.
His publications explore diverse topics such as early psychosis identification, neuropsychiatric consequences of viral infections, and clinical trial methodologies. Notable contributions include analyses of long-COVID neuropsychiatric symptoms and stroke disparities linked to ethnicity.
He received the Psych Star Fellowship (2020) from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. His work is conducted within the Neuropsychiatry Research & Education Group (NREG), an interdisciplinary team at King's Health Partners.
