Danilo Boskovic, PhD, serves as an Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University School of Medicine with dual appointments in the Biochemistry Division (Basic Sciences) and Earth and Biological Sciences departments. His academic journey includes a PhD awarded in 1998 and an MSc in 1990, establishing a strong foundation in biochemical research.
Dr. Boskovic's research spans multiple disciplines including hemostasis, neonatal medicine, oral microbiology, and marine biology. His work focuses on platelet function, oxidative stress in premature infants, Porphyromonas gingivalis pathogenesis, and environmental monitoring using crustacean models. He has published 64 research outputs with significant activity from 2011 to present, demonstrating sustained scholarly productivity.
His recent publications (2020-2025) reveal a strong focus on neonatal care, particularly examining energy metabolism in premature infants, procedural pain management, and the effects of Kangaroo Mother Care. Simultaneously, his work continues to explore platelet function in relation to oral pathogens and environmental factors. The research demonstrates interdisciplinary connections between biochemistry, clinical medicine, and environmental science.
Dr. Boskovic actively mentors students through thesis and dissertation research across multiple departments including Biochemistry, Biology, and Geology. His teaching schedule shows consistent involvement in research supervision for undergraduate and graduate students. His collaborative approach is evident through numerous co-authored publications with researchers across various disciplines.
