Danielle Mackle is a Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. She is part of the Centre for Inclusion, Transformation and Equality (CITE) and the Centre for Technological Innovation, Mental Health and Education (TIME). Her research focuses on LGBTQIA+ issues, social work education, mental health, and community development, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals. She accepts PhD students and has published widely on topics including conversion practices, workplace surveillance related to abortion, and social work curriculum design.
Her research interests span interdisciplinary areas such as LGBTQ+ youth experiences, social worker wellbeing, and policy analysis. Recent work includes a commissioned report on Northern Ireland's conversion practices and mixed-methods studies on newly qualified social workers' employment preferences.
Dr. Mackle actively engages in public lectures and seminars addressing LGBTQIA+ populations and social work practices. Her research emphasizes practical applications to improve education and policy frameworks.
