Dr. Danielle Grogan is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of New Hampshire's Earth Systems Research Center, where she is a core member of the Water Systems Analysis Group. Her work focuses on understanding water's role in human and natural Earth systems, particularly in the context of climate change and sustainable development.
Research Interests:
- Global hydrologic modeling using the WBM (Water Balance Model)
- Climate change impacts on water resources and agriculture
- Sustainable water use for achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Economic implications of water stress and extreme events
- Cryosphere-hydrology interactions in high mountain regions
Her research integrates advanced modeling with real-world data to assess how changing water sources (glaciers, snow, rain, groundwater) affect food production, energy generation, and ecosystem health. She has led multiple interdisciplinary projects funded by NSF, NASA, and international organizations like the FAO.
Teaching: Dr. Grogan regularly teaches "Freshwater Resources," a course that explores the critical role of water in environmental and societal systems.
