Danielle Dixson is a post-doctoral researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia. She holds a PhD from James Cook University (Australia) and has been affiliated with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies. Her research focuses on coral reef ecosystems, the role of olfactory cues in fish larval settlement, and the impacts of ocean acidification and anthropogenic activities on marine connectivity.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Marine Science, University of Tampa, Florida
- PhD in Marine Biology, James Cook University
Research Interests:
- Ecological dynamics of coral reefs
- Climate change impacts on marine biodiversity
- Behavioral ecology of fish larvae
- Human-societal interactions with marine ecosystems
Recent Work: Her 2022 studies include analyzing coral resilience via ancient DNA and investigating climate change's disproportionate effects on fisheries and vulnerable communities.
Labs/Teams: Alumni of the ARC Centre's coral reef dynamics team; currently part of Georgia Tech's marine biology research group.
