Danielle Batista is a PhD Candidate and Sessional Lecturer at the School of Information, University of British Columbia (UBC), with 20 years of professional records management experience. She is a member of Blockchain@UBC Research, ISC2 Cybersecurity Certified, and currently serves as Archivist for Brazil's Federal Labor Prosecution Office.
Her educational background includes:
- PhD in progress at University of British Columbia (expected 2024)
- Masters in Information Science (MIS) from University of Brasilia (2016)
- Bachelor in Archival Science (BAS) from University of Brasilia (2003)
Her research centers on blockchain applications for records management, focusing on records trustworthiness, fraud prevention, government digital records, and digital forensics. She investigates how emerging technologies like blockchain can revolutionize provenance tracking, chain of custody, and authenticity verification in archival systems while enhancing social trust through technical design.
