Danielle Antin-Ozerkis, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Pulmonary) at the Yale School of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Yale Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Center of Excellence. She specializes in diagnosing and treating interstitial lung diseases, particularly idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and connective tissue disease-associated ILD. Her role involves leading a multidisciplinary team that reviews complex cases weekly to ensure accurate diagnoses and tailored treatments, including antifibrotic drugs, immunosuppressive therapies, and clinical trials.
Dr. Antin-Ozerkis earned her BA from Princeton University and her MD from the University of Pennsylvania, completing residency and fellowship training there. She joined Yale in 2006. Her research focuses on pulmonary fibrosis mechanisms and translational studies, with a strong emphasis on clinical trials to improve patient outcomes. She is a primary investigator for studies on novel therapies like nintedanib and bexotegrast.
She has contributed to national guidelines, including the 2023 ACR/CHEST ILD guidelines. Her work integrates clinical care with research, emphasizing patient quality of life through oxygen therapy, nutrition, and emotional support. She is affiliated with the Winchester Center for Lung Disease and collaborates with teams in rheumatology and critical care.
