Daniela Zisterer is an Associate Professor and Principal Investigator in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology at Trinity College Dublin since 2000. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of apoptosis and autophagy in cancer, aiming to develop novel therapeutic strategies for drug-resistant cancers.

Her work spans multidisciplinary collaborations with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and industry partners, addressing apoptotic pathway deregulation and chemotherapy resistance. Recent publications highlight microtubule-targeting agents, IAP inhibitors, and autophagy modulation in cancers like breast, colorectal, and haematological malignancies.
