Dr. Daniela Salvucci is a Cultural Anthropologist affiliated with the University of Siena, Italy. Her research focuses on ecological inhabiting patterns, kinship practices, and rituals among Andean shepherds and peasants in northwestern Argentina. She conducted doctoral research in Salta Province (2011) and has investigated topics such as genealogical websites in Buenos Aires and Italian migrant kinship networks in Argentina.
Education: PhD in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology (University of Siena). Earlier work included studies on contemporary kinship in Tuscany and Italian migrants in Córdoba.
Research Interests: Her work explores eco-logics and environmental networks across altitudinal belts in the Calchaquí Valley, emphasizing human and non-human relationships. She analyzes transhumance, migration trajectories, and spiritual concepts like 'Pachamama'.
Key Contribution: Presented a lecture titled 'Inhabiting the Calchaquí Valley...' at the ZIS in May 2014, proposing new frameworks for understanding Andean environmental relationships through Ingold's ecological perspectives.
