Daniela Ruiz Massieu is an Associate Professor at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and serves on the management board of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. She previously served as a visiting scholar at the Martin Trust Center for the 2021-22 academic year, teaching entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurship, and business model innovation courses while conducting research on Latin American venture capital ecosystems.

Ruiz Massieu's scholarly work centers on venture capital dynamics, entrepreneurial finance, and startup valuation methodologies in emerging Latin American markets. As head of EPIC Lab (ITAM’s Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship), she develops strategic educational programs that equip entrepreneurs with practical scaling frameworks and business model validation techniques. Her research integrates fieldwork with business case development to address regional entrepreneurial challenges.
She has directed ITAM’s undergraduate Business Program and co-designed executive education initiatives including the Angel Investment Program, New Venture Creation, and Social Entrepreneurship tracks. Ruiz Massieu actively contributes as a speaker, mentor, and competition juror across Latin American entrepreneurial ecosystems while maintaining advisory roles at corporate and academic institutions.
Prior to her academic career, she gained industry experience as a financial analyst at Banco Santander and Standard & Poor’s, followed by co-founding a furniture retail venture in Mexico City where she managed financing and investment operations.
