Daniela Lorenz

Prof. Dr. Daniela Lorenz is a full Professor at the Chair of Business Administration and Corporate Finance, University of Würzburg, within the Faculty of Economics. She is actively engaged in teaching and research, focusing on corporate valuation, portfolio selection, capital markets, and the taxation of investment and financing decisions.

Research Interests:

• Corporate valuation and capital budgeting
• Portfolio selection and capital market theory
• Impact of taxation on investment and financing decisions
• Empirical capital market research
• Volatility prediction and spill-over effects
• FX trading strategies, especially carry trades

Her research spans both theoretical and empirical finance, with a strong emphasis on tax policy implications and market efficiency.

Scientific Contributions: Prof. Lorenz has published extensively in leading finance and accounting journals. Her work addresses fundamental questions in corporate finance, such as the estimation and interpretation of beta factors, the cost of capital, and the interaction between tax policy and firm valuation. She has also contributed to the literature on ESG investing and its impact on German equities.

Advising and Alumni: She has successfully mentored doctoral candidates including Dr. Kristina Bambach and Dr. Jonathan Bergmann, both of whom have completed their degrees under her supervision.
