Daniela Henkel

Daniela Henkel is a Marine Biologist and Scientific Project Manager at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, specializing in marine biogeochemistry and deep-sea monitoring. She has worked extensively on projects related to anthropogenic impacts on marine environments and marine munition remediation.

• Education: PhD in Zoology/Animal Biology from Goethe University Frankfurt; Diploma in Marine Biology from University of Rostock; Vordiplom in Biology from University of Cologne.

Her research focuses on marine biogeochemical cycles, environmental monitoring, and the ecological consequences of marine munition. She has participated in international collaborations and fieldwork, including expeditions in the Baltic Sea and partnerships in Chile and China.
