Daniela Gutberlet

Prof. Dr. Daniela Gutberlet serves as Professor for Environmental Technology & Logistics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Environmental and Building Technology (FB 1) at Westfälische Hochschule since March 2021. Her office is located in Room B2.2.10 at Neidenburger Str. 43, 45897 Gelsenkirchen, with office hours available by telephone appointment.

Her academic journey includes completing her doctorate (Promotion) at the Institute for Mining Engineering I, RWTH Aachen in 2006, followed by business economics postgraduate studies at FernUniversität Hagen (1999-2003), and her foundational mining engineering studies at RWTH Aachen (1991-1997).

Gutberlet's research expertise spans environmental technology, waste management logistics, and circular economy principles. Her work demonstrates particular strength in nuclear waste disposal systems and sustainable industrial process design, applying analytical methods like multi-criteria analysis and Hasse diagram techniques to evaluate sustainability in complex engineering contexts. She has made significant contributions to understanding repository safety for radioactive waste and sustainable development frameworks for mining operations.

Her teaching portfolio includes Bachelor-level courses in Waste Management Logistics, Environmental Science & Waste Law, Maintenance, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), along with Master-level instruction in Supply and Waste Management Logistics and Management of Large Projects.
