Daniela Cecconi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Verona, specializing in Analytical Chemistry (CHEM-01/A) with extensive expertise in proteomic analyses. She serves as Deputy PhD coordinator for both the PhD in Biotechnology and the PhD in Molecular, Industrial and Environmental Biotechnologies, and holds positions on the Biotechnology Teaching Committee, Molecular and Medical Biotechnology Teaching Committee, and Biotechnology Departmental Council.
Her primary research focuses include:
- Development of electrophoretic and chromatographic approaches for proteomic analysis
- Mass spectrometry and bioinformatic analysis applications
- Identification of protein biomarkers in human pathologies, particularly cancer
- Characterization of molecular mechanisms of action of new antitumor agents
- Proteomic characterization of agri-food samples and microorganisms
As head of the Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry research group, she oversees methodologies for protein purification, 2D electrophoresis, chromatography, and protein identification through mass spectrometry. Her laboratory maintains ongoing collaborations with national and international scientists across multiple research domains.
Prof. Cecconi teaches Analytical Techniques for Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Proteomics across undergraduate and graduate programs, with consistent course offerings from 2006-2025. Her office is located at Ca' Vignal 1, Floor 2, Room 2.12, with contact numbers +39 045 802 7056 (office) and +39 045 802 7087 (lab).
