Daniel Zarate is a Lecturer in the School of Health and Biomedical Sciences at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. He serves as Deputy Program Manager for the Bachelor of Psychology (BP154) program since 2025.

His research focuses on behavioral addictions, digital phenotyping, and mental health prediction through social media analysis. Key areas include ADHD, psychometrics, cyberpsychology, and neurodivergence.
Recent publications examine gaming disorder, social media addiction, user-avatar dynamics, and burnout in esports. Affiliated with Digital Minds Cyberpsychology group and Australasian Cyberpsychology Research Network (ACORN).
