Dr. Daniel Yar Hamidi is an Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship and Business Design at the University of Borås, Sweden. His primary affiliation is with the Department of Information Technology within the Faculty of Librarianship, Information, Education and IT. He currently leads the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project 'Governance of Small and Medium Enterprises (GoSMEs)' at the University of Wolverhampton, UK, and directs a Knowledge Foundation-funded initiative on Data Driven Innovation at the University of Borås.
His research focuses on corporate governance, innovation dynamics in SMEs, and service-dominant logic. Key themes include board leadership’s role in fostering innovation, strategic governance frameworks, and overcoming barriers to digital and data-driven innovation. He holds a PhD on chairperson leadership in SME innovation and has over 15 years of experience training board directors and executives.
Academically, he chairs the Corporate Governance Special Interest Group at the European Academy of Management (EURAM) and serves on editorial boards for journals like International Journal of Business Governance and Ethics. Previously, he served as chair of StyrelseAkademien Sjuhärad (West Sweden’s Institute of Directors). His advisory roles span board-level positions, including CEO, directorships, and independent evaluation committees.
His work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing actionable insights for SME governance and strategic innovation. Current research explores value co-creation, service systems, and digital transformation in entrepreneurial contexts.
