معرفی
Dr. Daniel Wallace is an Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He holds a PhD in Genetics from University College London (1999) and a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Sheffield University (1994). His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of iron homeostasis, genetic causes of iron overload disorders, and cancer's exploitation of iron regulatory pathways. He has published extensively in these areas and contributed to defining the role of hepcidin and the liver in iron metabolism.
Wallace's teaching roles include coordinating units such as LQB280 (Genes, Genomes and Genetics), LQB490 (Cytogenetic and Molecular Pathology), and LSB182 (Bioscience 1). His research projects include investigations into iron's role in liver fibrosis and peroxisomal disorders. He collaborates on grants like 'Delineating the Relationship between Iron and Peroxisomal Disorders' and 'SARA: Delineating its Association with Liver Fibrosis.'
He is a member of professional societies such as the Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) and the International Bioiron Society (IBIS). His work spans from basic science to translational research, aiming to develop therapies for iron-related diseases and cancer.
