Daniel Vargas

Daniel Vargas is a Senior Instructor and coordinator of the ASU Online Spanish Program at Arizona State University’s School of International Letters and Cultures. He holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Spanish Literature from ASU, with a focus on Mexican-American and Latino culture. Fluent in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Italian, he brings a multilingual and interdisciplinary approach to teaching and scholarship.

His work bridges academic scholarship and community engagement, reflecting a deep commitment to cultural equity.

His recent publications and invited lectures examine transnational spaces, eulatinos, and the globalized Chicano experience. These works reflect interdisciplinary trends across literature, cultural studies, and spatial theory, emphasizing identity formation in borderlands and diasporic communities.

He is actively involved in academic and community-based teams, including SILC-ASU, SPAGRAD, and collaborations with the Mexican Consulate. His work fosters transnational dialogue and educational access for heritage speakers and Latino communities.
