Daniel Sibley is an Associate Professor of Instruction in Finance and Managerial Economics and Director of the Energy Management program at the Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He holds an Ll.M from Southern Methodist University (1984), a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin (1977), and a BBA in Accounting from the University of North Texas (1973).

His expertise spans energy accounting, taxation, finance, law, and regulatory economics. He teaches courses such as Energy Accounting and Taxation, Energy Finance, Energy Law and Contracts, and Managing Renewable Energy Assets. Sibley’s professional experience includes 22 years as General Counsel and CFO of an oil and gas firm, legal counsel for energy partnerships, and prior roles as a CPA and private-practice attorney. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
Prior to academia, he served in energy industry leadership roles and practiced law for 18 years, combining legal, financial, and energy sector expertise.
