Daniel S. Katz

Daniel S. Katz is a Research Professor and Chief Scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He holds Research Associate Professor appointments in the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science and the School of Information Sciences (iSchool). His work focuses on advancing scientific software sustainability, open science practices, and high-performance computing (HPC). Katz earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University (1988–1994).
