Dr. Daniel Roberts is a Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering at Bangor University's School of Computer Science and Engineering, where he also serves as Director of Student Engagement and School Liaison. A bilingual educator (Welsh/English), he holds SFHEA status and a Bangor University Teaching Fellowship. His educational background includes an MEng and PhD in Electronic Engineering from Bangor University, focusing on semiconductor devices for terahertz radiation generation.
Roberts specializes in optoelectronics, semiconductor devices, and terahertz radiation applications. His research examines laser system dynamics and photonic technologies for advanced communication systems. His publications demonstrate consistent focus on semiconductor laser control mechanisms and terahertz generation techniques.

Roberts leads extensive STEM outreach initiatives, having secured Royal Academy of Engineering funding for the 'Photo-Electric Light Orchestra' project. As former Athena SWAN lead, he secured the School's Bronze Award in 2020.
