معرفی
Daniel R. Cooperman, MD, is a Professor of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale School of Medicine, where he specializes in pediatric orthopaedic surgery. He is affiliated with the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation and the 3D Orthopaedics Lab, focusing on congenital and developmental musculoskeletal disorders in children.
- Professor, Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, Yale School of Medicine
- Director of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery (former), University of Chicago
- Director, Pediatric Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Clinic (former), Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital
- Interim Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (former), MetroHealth Medical Center
Dr. Cooperman earned his BA from Dartmouth College and MD from the University of Chicago. He completed a research fellowship at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Newington Children's Hospital. His clinical expertise spans cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, foot deformities, trauma, and scoliosis in children. He developed innovative low-radiation imaging protocols for skeletal maturity assessment, enhancing patient safety.
His research interests center on pediatric skeletal development, biomechanics, and imaging innovation. He investigates femoral version, pelvic incidence, fracture remodeling, and 3D modeling of joint pathology. His recent publications emphasize cadaveric studies, 3D imaging, and surgical planning optimization. Collaborators include John Fulkerson, Christopher Schneble, and Cicero Torres Silva.
His work demonstrates a consistent focus on improving diagnostic accuracy and surgical outcomes in pediatric orthopaedics through anatomical precision and technological integration.
- Named in Yale Medicine's 'Top Doctors' list (2023–2025)
Dr. Cooperman has mentored numerous trainees and contributed to orthopaedic education at Yale. Though no current grants are listed, his research is deeply integrated into clinical innovation. He leads projects on skeletal maturity systems and intraoperative measurement techniques, often in collaboration with radiology and engineering teams. His work in the 3D Orthopaedics Lab exemplifies translational research aimed at enhancing surgical decision-making and patient-specific care.
He is actively involved in clinical research studies on skeletal maturity, femoral anteversion, forearm fracture healing, and trapezial arthritis. His lab fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging orthopaedics, radiology, and biomedical engineering to advance pediatric care.
