Daniel Plano Amatriain

Daniel Plano Amatriain is a University Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Nutrition (University of Navarra), affiliated with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is associated with the SECALE research group, which focuses on selenate derivatives as therapies for cancer, trypanosomes, and other pathologies.

• Education: Doctor of Philosophy (2010) from the University of Navarra, with a thesis titled Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of new organoselenic derivatives with cytotoxic and apoptotic activity, supervised by Dr. Juan Antonio Palop Cubillo and Dr. María del Carmen Sanmartín Grijalba.

Research Interests: His work centers on the development of organoselenic compounds for cytotoxic applications, bridging medicinal chemistry and oncology. The SECALE research group explores these derivatives as potential treatments for cancer, parasitic infections, and other pathological conditions.

Collaborations: Affiliated with the Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CCUN) and the SECALE research team, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to drug discovery.
