Dr. Daniel Peart is an Associate Professor in the Sport Exercise and Rehabilitation Department at Northumbria University. His academic career includes roles at Teesside University, the University of Hull, Sunderland College, and Scunthorpe’s University Centre. He holds a PhD in Sports Science (2013) focused on exercise-induced physiological responses.
Research interests span nutrition and physiology for health/performance optimization, alongside Higher Education pedagogy. He leads Northumbria’s SER pedagogy research group, investigating teaching methods in sport sciences. Recent work explores topics like remote assessment in sports, dietary guidelines for athletes, and blended learning during the pandemic.
Publications emphasize evidence-based strategies in sports nutrition, exercise recovery, and academic adaptation to crises. Collaborations include international teams studying ergogenic aids, student engagement, and pandemic-era education models.
