Prof. Daniel Pang is an Associate Professor at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Sciences. His research focuses on pain management in animals, anesthesia optimization, and animal welfare. He has led or co-led multiple grants, including projects funded by CRSNG and Zoetis, exploring pain assessment scales (e.g., Rat Grimace Scale) and peri-anesthesia protocols. Key contributions include improving rodent temperature management during anesthesia and evaluating alternative airway devices for rabbits.
Dr. Pang has supervised graduate students in areas such as euthanasia alternatives, ERAS principles in veterinary surgery, and pain biomarkers in inflammatory diseases. He is affiliated with the GREPAQ research group and the Pang Lab, collaborating on pharmacology, pain metrology, and translational models for human-animal health links.
