Dr. Daniel Mulugeta is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and Lecturer in International Politics of Africa at SOAS University of London. His interdisciplinary research examines state formations in Africa through political, anthropological, and sociological lenses, with focus on pan-Africanism's geopolitical applications and diaspora engagement. Previously, he held positions at the University of Birmingham and contributed to the African State Architecture project at SOAS.
Mulugeta leads a four-year UKRI-funded project exploring pan-Africanism as a framework for peacebuilding, development policy, and diaspora affinity networks. His scholarly contributions include the monograph 'The Everyday State in Africa' and co-edited volume 'Architecture and Politics in Africa', which analyzes built environments as expressions of regional identity and political imagination. Mulugeta's work advances critical perspectives on continental governance and transnational African politics.
