Daniel Moran is a Professor and Director of Dual Degree Studies in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis. He holds affiliations with the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences. His work focuses on neuroprosthetics and motor control, developing brain-computer interfaces to restore function in paralyzed patients.
Education: PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University (1994), BS from Milwaukee School of Engineering (1989).
Research interests include neural engineering, voluntary motor control mechanisms, and alternative neural control signals for neuroprostheses. His team developed the FDA-approved IpsiHand device for stroke rehabilitation. Recent work involves training programs in neurotechnology through NIH grants.
