John Donoghue is the Henry Merritt Wriston Professor of Neuroscience and Professor of Engineering at Brown University. He is renowned for pioneering research in brain-computer interfaces (BCI) to restore movement in paralyzed individuals through the BrainGate system, and for foundational work on neural computation in motor cortex networks. He founded Brown’s Department of Neuroscience and the Carney Institute for Brain Science.
