Daniel Millimet

Dr. Daniel Millimet is the Robert H. and Nancy Dedman Trustee Professor and Department Chair of Economics at Southern Methodist University (SMU). He is also a Research Fellow at IZA, a member of the HCEO Global Working Group, and Senior Co-editor of Advances in Econometrics. His research focuses on microeconometrics, emphasizing causal inference of public policies in labor, environmental, and health economics, with particular attention to measurement error and missing data challenges.

Education: Ph.D. in Economics from Brown University. His work has been funded by organizations such as the USDA and North Texas Food Bank. He teaches graduate-level courses in econometrics and labor economics.

Research Interests: Microeconometrics, labor markets, environmental policy, health economics, and causal inference methodologies. Recent projects include re-evaluating fixed effects estimators, analyzing bankruptcy eligibility, and studying food security in vulnerable households.
