Daniel Jensen

Daniel Jensen is a Doctoral Research Fellow at The Norwegian College of Fishery Science, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, based in Tromsø. He is currently pursuing an article-based Ph.D. under the project BlueGov, focusing on the governance of fisheries and aquaculture within the evolving framework of the Blue Economy. His research is interdisciplinary, bridging environmental policy, marine spatial planning, and sustainable development.

His research interests include:

• Innovation in aquaculture and fisheries
• Sustainable marine management
• Climate change adaptation
• Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) and Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM)
• Social acceptance of blue technologies

Daniel's recent publications analyze governance challenges posed by mobile and offshore aquaculture installations, regulatory adaptation, and public perception of new production systems. His work reveals tensions between innovation and existing governance structures, particularly in the Norwegian coastal zone. He frequently collaborates with researchers such as Signe Annie Sønvisen, Jahn Petter Johnsen, and Anne Elaine Gaspers.
