Daniel Jan Martin

Daniel Jan Martin is a Lecturer in Landscape Architecture at The University of Western Australia’s UWA Design School. He co-leads the collaborative practice Super Natural, focusing on environmental planning and design. His work bridges ecosystems and water systems, emphasizing conservation and compelling environmental communication.

Education: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Environmental Design (BEnvDes), Master of Architecture (Distinction) from The University of Western Australia.

Research Interests: Urban ecology, water systems management, conservation planning, GIS/spatial analysis, and the intersection of design with Noongar Country’s ecological heritage. His projects often involve mapping, community engagement, and advocacy for biodiversity preservation.

Notable collaborations include the interdisciplinary Swampscapes exhibition (2018) and Kepa Kalyakoorl (2021), blending art, sound, and cartography to explore Perth’s hidden wetlands and groundwater systems.
