Daniel Hahn is a Professor and Associate Department Chair in the Department of Entomology and Nematology at the University of Florida. His research focuses on ecological and evolutionary physiology, particularly the mechanisms underlying environmental stress hardiness, climate change adaptation, and innovative pest control methods such as biological control and phytosanitary treatments.
- Research Highlights: Sterile Insect Technique (SIT), thermal tolerance, diapause, hormesis, and ecological speciation.

Recent work explores transgene-based biocontrol systems, radiation sterilization of mosquitoes, and climate change impacts on insect phenology. His lab develops wireless sensor packages for physiological monitoring and investigates hormetic responses to environmental stressors. Hahn's publications span topics including thermal tolerance, diapause genetics, and mosquito management.
