Professor Daniel Guide holds the Smeal Chaired Professorship in Operations & Supply Chain Management at The Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business. He joined the faculty in 2002 and previously served as a visiting research fellow at INSEAD (2001-2003). His research focuses on closed-loop supply chains, sustainable operations, remanufacturing, and time-based product return systems, supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and Carnegie Bosch Institute.

His work engages global organizations including the US Navy, Hewlett-Packard, Bosch Tools, Cisco, and Pitney Bowes. He has published in Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Harvard Business Review.
