Daniel Grillmeyer is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Software Engineering (Informatik II) at the University of Würzburg, headed by Prof. Samuel Kounev. He holds a Master of Computer Science (2020) and a Bachelor of Science in Physics (2016) from the same university. His research focuses on self-aware computing systems, predictive maintenance, and Industry 4.0 applications, with recent work presented at the International Conference on Performance Engineering (ICPE) in 2024 and 2025.
Teaching activities include coordinating exercises for the 'Fundamentals of Programming' lecture and supervising Bachelor theses and seminars on topics like the reproducibility crisis in ML-based predictive maintenance.
Prior to his doctoral position, Grillmeyer was a student research assistant at the Data Science Chair (Informatik X) under Prof. Andreas Hotho (2021-2023). His work integrates machine learning, IoT, and cyber-physical systems to address challenges in adaptive and self-maintaining systems.
