Prof. Dr. Daniel Greb is a Professor of Algebraic Geometry at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Duisburg-Essen. His research focuses on algebraic and complex geometry, moduli spaces, and geometric invariant theory, with applications to symmetries and classifying spaces. He serves as deputy spokesperson of the DFG Research Training Group 2553 'Symmetries and classifying spaces: analytic, arithmetic and derived' and is a member of the editorial boards of Abhandlungen aus dem Mathematischen Seminar der Universität Hamburg, Beiträge zur Algebra und Geometrie / Contributions to Algebra and Geometry, and Épijournal de Géométrie Algébrique (EPIGA).
- Research areas: Algebraic Geometry, Complex Manifolds, Moduli Problems, Geometric Invariant Theory
He has supervised seminars and courses on topics such as Linear Algebra, Complex Geometry, Riemann Surfaces, and Modular Forms. His teaching emphasizes the interplay between algebraic and differential geometric methods. He has held visiting positions at Princeton University, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, and MSRI, Berkeley. His academic lineage traces back to luminaries including Leibniz and Ahlfors.
