Daniel Granato

Professor Daniel Granato holds academic positions in the Bernal Institute, Department of Biological Sciences, and Health Research Institute at the University of Limerick. With 14 years of teaching experience across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, he has designed new modules and coordinated BSc/MSc programs. He has supervised over 140 students, including PhD candidates and post-doctoral researchers. His research focuses on functional foods, phenolic compounds, and food delivery systems, with over 300 peer-reviewed publications, 21 book chapters, and 6 books. His work has been cited over 20,000 times (h-index 75), earning him 'Highly Cited Researcher' status since 2018. He serves on advisory boards for top journals and is a scientific editor for Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety and Food Chemistry.
