Daniel Gabor Péntek

Dr. Daniel Gabor Péntek is a Hungarian academic and Reformed pastor currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Theology of Gáspár Károli Reformed University, where he works in the Department of Biblical Theology and History of Religion.

• Teaches courses on Old Testament themes, psalm poetry, and ancient Near Eastern history

He holds a PhD in Theology (2021) and dual MA degrees in Theology (2017) and Hebraic Studies (2017) from Gáspár Károli Reformed University and Eötvös Loránd University respectively.

His research focuses on intersections between Biblical theology, Hebrew Bible traditions, and ancient Near Eastern religious practices, particularly exploring underworld imagery in psalm poetry and connections between Isaiah and the Psalms. He has contributed to understanding determinism in Qumran scrolls and enemy figures in psalmic texts.

As a member of the Hungarian Hebraic Society, he collaborates on academic projects and serves as KRE Junior Academy faculty liaison. His language skills in English and German support international academic engagement.
