Daniel G. Brown is an Associate Teaching Professor at Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences, affiliated with the Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition department. He has been actively involved in teaching critical writing and research courses since at least 2020, including WRT 105, WRT 205, and WRT 209 (Honors), while also serving in key roles within the university’s Writing Center and Renee Crown University Honors Program.

- B.A. in English Language and Literatures from SUNY Fredonia (1997)
His research focuses on rhetoric and composition, critical writing pedagogy, and memory studies, informed by his dissertation on "The Highland Clearances and the Politics of Memory" and his long-term engagement with academic writing practices. Brown’s teaching emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to writing, spanning technical, cultural, and historical contexts.
He has held service roles such as Writing Consultant at the Writing Center (Fall 2024 - Present), Writing Consultant for the Renee Crown University Honors Program (Fall 2024 - Present), and Academic Integrity Panelist/Faculty Interviewer for the Office of Academic Integrity (Spring 2021 - Present). Additionally, he served as an Honors Thesis Editor for the Honors Program from Spring 2019 to Spring 2024.
Daniel G. Brown’s work is deeply embedded in the Liberal Arts Core, supporting student-centered writing instruction and academic integrity initiatives. He has taught courses like WRT 114 Writing Culture and contributed to curriculum design for writing studios, reflecting a commitment to pedagogical innovation.
