Daniel Funk is a Professor and Ed Rosen Senior Research Fellow at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) at Temple University. His research spans sport marketing, sport management, and sport tourism, with a focus on consumer experiences, customer acquisition, retention, and expenditure. His work is highly applied, often funded by industry partners to assess the economic, media, and community impacts of sport and cultural events.
Research Interests: Dr. Funk’s scholarship centers on understanding sport consumer behavior, including team identification, fan engagement, sponsorship effectiveness, and the economic impacts of events. His interdisciplinary research bridges marketing, psychology, and tourism, offering actionable insights for sport organizations and event planners.
