Daniel Edelstein is the William H. Bonsall Professor of French at Stanford University, with courtesy appointments in History and Political Science. He directs the Humanities + Design Research Lab at CESTA and leads projects like Palladio and Data Pen, focusing on digital humanities applications in Enlightenment and intellectual history. His research intersects literature, political thought, and the evolution of knowledge systems.

His research spans Digital Humanities, Enlightenment historiography, political theory, and human rights evolution. The Writing Rights project explores visualization techniques in humanistic inquiry.
